Black History Month Breakfast Book Discussion

Reported by allan_davenport@ipsd.org on 1/28/20

During the month of February students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of different activities and lessons around Black History. Our theme for these activities is “Profiles of Determination”! One activity that we are really excited about is our Profiles of Determination Breakfast Book Discussion!

This is how it will work. Any student interested in participating should visit Google Classroom and find the Black History Breakfast Book Discussion Classroom. Join by using the following code: pxpfnkr

Once you join the classroom you will see a Google slide show that previews the different book choices for our book discussion. Once you have decided on a book, you (with your parent) will need to visit the Pushcoin store to order your book. All books will be delivered to Granger and we will distribute the books via our LMC. Once in Pushcoin, look for “Black History Books”.

How it will work: Once you have your book, you will spend the month of February reading books. On March 4th, from 7:30am-8:15am we will have a breakfast book discussion. You will bring your book and talk with other students and parents who read the same book you did! Each book will have a facilitator who will help facilitate the conversation during the breakfast.

This is open to students and parents! Please reach out to Mr. Davenport if you have any questions!
