Chef’s Choice Award
Reported by firstname.lastname@example.org on 4/6/17
Granger Middle School Students Orlando Velazquez , Ariel Pobanz, Alejandro Aguirre , and Brady Mamon, received the Chef’s Choice Award at Communities In School’s (CIS) annual Healthy Choice Cook Off.
The students are a part of the CIS after-school program -- My Time. To prepare for the cook off, they worked as a team problem solving and strategizing how to put together a healthy breakfast using the popular cook shows as a format. Upon arriving at Aurora University they met the Chef who would assist them (cutting/cooking). After unveiling the contents of their basket they worked together quickly and masterfully. In the end they came up with a healthy breakfast that not only looked mouthwatering but was obviously quite tasty as they walked away with the “Chef’s Choice Award”.
