Reported by julia_alsirt@ipsd.org on 4/4/18

Dear Parents and Guardians of 8th Grade Students:

While it may be hard to imagine, the 2017-2018 school year is quickly coming to a close. For our 8th grade students this signifies a time of celebration with friends for their many accomplishments. Many fun activities have been planned by your student’s teachers and the PTSA to make this a memorable time. Below are the end of the year activities planned for our 8th grade students:
• 8th Grade Dance - May 29th from 6pm – 8pm
• Promotion Ceremony Practice – May 31st from 11am – 1pm
• 8th Grade Picnic – May 31st from 1 pm – 3pm
• 8th Grade Promotion – June 1st from
o Team 8-2 & 8 – 0 ceremony is from 9am – 10am
o Team 8-1 ceremony is from 11am – 12pm

It is important to the staff at Granger that all students are able to enjoy these activities. Teachers and administration will review behavioral expectations with students in the coming weeks. In addition, we are asking for your assistance and support in maintaining a safe learning environment for all students through the end of the school year. Please take a moment to review the following expectations with your student(s):
• Students are expected to be in class on time
• Students are expected to remain focused in class
• Students are expected to be respectful of peers, staff, and property

While we plan for all students to participate in these activities, please know that students engaging in behaviors that create an unsafe learning environment may result in the loss of one or more of these end of the year activities. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact a member of the administrative team at (630) 375-1010.

Sincerely,
Laurie Fiorenza
Principal Granger Middle School
